The Collection MoDA series of events was conceptualized in 2011. It started with MoDA Runway, and was a huge success!

Clarke always knew that the Runway show was not enough, and was in search of the perfect partner to grow the MoDA series. In 2014, she met her partner, Aiesha Panton, who she fondly calls her work wife. These two ladies have worked tirelessly to create the Caribbeans number one creative platform, welcoming vendors from neighboring islands as well as wholesale buyers over the four day series of events. 

 

2019 will be one of the biggest years for the Collection MoDA , as the company launches MoDA Market West in Montego Bay, and targets the diaspora to visit Jamaica for a weekend of fashion and lifestyle events for the series in Kingston!

Aiesha Panton, our Curator, bid adieu to her plans of a corporate career in Accounting after a series of serendipitous experiences led her to the realization that life’s moments, for her, would be better spent chasing and creating beautiful things and experiences.

 

She started, Pussbackfoot, an event design boutique in Jamaica, a decade ago, and since then has done just what she set out to do; create exquisite affairs, all the while, celebrating Caribbean makers and artisans along the way. It was at one such endeavour, Conversation Piece, an annual curated pop-up showcasing the best local talent, where she met Kerry-Ann. Since then they have joined forces to develop The Collection MoDA to what it is today.

 

Aiesha remains committed to and passionate about playing her part in developing an economy which emboldens creative talent and fosters sustainable creative businesses.
