  • Yemaja is a nod to the half-Nigerian, Yoruban side of me which I have very little familiarity with. She is the mother of all the orishas (the many gods and spirits worshipped by the Yoruban people) and is believed to be the patron spirit of women residing in the Ogun river, Nigeria.
